McDonald's Mumbai Outlet License Suspended Over Cockroach Infestation and Hygiene Lapses
The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration has suspended the food business license of a McDonald's outlet in Mumbai's Colaba due to numerous hygiene lapses.
A reinspection on August 19 found live cockroaches at the outlet, which is operated by Hardcastle Restaurants Pvt Ltd.
The FDA had previously issued an Improvement Notice to the restaurant highlighting 20 deficiencies, but during the latest inspection, it was revealed that only two of these issues had been addressed.
The suspension took effect from August 19, and the regulator has given the outlet a deadline to rectify the issues.
