McDonald's Q2 Earnings Show Mixed Results Amid Value Execution Issues
McDonald's (MCD) released its Q2 2026 earnings report on August 4, 2026. The company reported global comparable sales of 1.3%, reflecting flat to negative QSR industry traffic in several major markets.
The U.S. segment saw a 0.8% increase in comparable sales, falling short of internal expectations due to inconsistent value execution and the underperformance of the June FIFA marketing campaign.
International Operated Markets (IOM) reported a 1.5% increase in comparable sales, driven by positive performance in Germany, Australia, and the U.K. International Developmental Licensed (IDL) markets saw a 1.9% increase in comparable sales, supported by guest count growth in Japan.
McDonald's also highlighted its loyalty program, with nearly 220 million active users representing a 13% increase.
