McDonald's Taps New US Leader in Bid to Revitalize Sales Growth
McDonald's is revamping its menu and operations to boost sales growth. The chain's CEO, Christopher Kempczinski, acknowledged that US sales slowed down in Q2 with a 0.8% comparable sales growth.
Kempczinski identified three areas of improvement: inconsistent execution, restaurant teams overwhelmed by too many deployments, and marketing programs not meeting expectations.
To address these issues, McDonald's has launched its 'McDonald's > NEXT' program, focusing on improving food quality, engaging with customers, and simplifying restaurants to enhance customer service.
The chain has also named Skye Anderson as the new president of McDonald's USA, replacing Joe Erlinger. Analysts praise the move as a sign of management's commitment to reviving sales growth.
