McIlroy Favored at 2026 Amgen Irish Open Amid Strong Field
The 2026 Amgen Irish Open is set to take place at Trump International Golf Links & Hotel in Doonbeg, County Clare, from September 10-13. The tournament features a $6 million purse and a strong field of players, including defending champion Rory McIlroy.
McIlroy enters the week as the favorite with odds of +600, having finished third at the BMW Championship and T4 at the TOUR Championship in his last two starts. He is aiming to become the first player to successfully defend the Irish Open since Colin Montgomerie won consecutive editions in 1996 and 1997.
Jon Rahm (+1000) is also a notable contender, having won the Irish Open by six strokes at Portstewart in 2017. Tyrrell Hatton (+1600), Robert MacIntyre (+1750), and Joaquin Niemann (+1750) are other players with strong links golf resumes.
