McIlroy Leads Strong Field for Amgen Irish Open Return
The Amgen Irish Open is set to return to West Clare for the first time since 2019, and it's going to be a big one. The tournament, which will take place at Trump International Golf Links & Hotel in Doonbeg from September 9-13, has assembled one of its strongest fields in recent history.
Defending champion Rory McIlroy will headline the lineup, joined by fellow Major winners Shane Lowry, Pádraig Harrington, Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, Francesco Molinari, Patrick Reed, and Sergio Garcia. The list also includes Ryder Cup stars Tyrrell Hatton, Robert MacIntyre, Sepp Straka, Rasmus Højgaard, and Nicolai Højgaard.
Other notable players include recent Husqvarna British Masters winner Joe Dean, World Number 42 Joaquin Niemann, and PGA Tour winner Harry Hall. The field also includes ten Irishmen, including Thomas Higgins, Liam Nolan, Max Kennedy, and Mark Power, who earned his spot after finishing as the leading Irishman at last month's Irish Challenge.
With a strong mix of established stars and up-and-coming talent, the 2026 Amgen Irish Open promises to be an exciting event. The tournament assumes a key position on the DP World Tour's Global Schedule as part of the Back 9, which includes nine of the tour's most historic tournaments and national opens.
