Merck and Moderna's Combo Therapy Shows Promise in Melanoma Treatment
Merck and Moderna announced positive results from their Phase 3 trial of intismeran autogene (V940 or mRNA-4157) in combination with Keytruda for patients with completely resected stage IIB to IV melanoma.
The INTerpath-001 trial met its primary endpoint of recurrence-free survival and a key secondary endpoint of distant metastasis-free survival compared with Keytruda alone.
This marks the first positive Phase 3 readout for an individualized neoantigen therapy and an mRNA-based cancer therapy, as well as the first study to demonstrate a clinically meaningful improvement over Keytruda in the adjuvant setting for patients with resected melanoma.
