Merck Cuts 54 More Jobs in NJ as $3B Cost-Reduction Drive Continues
Pharmaceutical giant Merck & Co. (MRK) has filed notice for additional layoffs at its Rahway location in New Jersey, cutting 54 jobs.
The redundancies are part of a company-wide restructuring initiative launched in 2025 to reduce costs by $3 billion before the end of 2027.
This is the fourth round of cuts to hit Merck's New Jersey workforce since last summer and brings the total number of job losses in the state to 142 this year alone.
