Merck KGaA Lifts 2026 Outlook After Strong Q2 Results
Merck KGaA reported strong Q2 results, driven by growth in its Life Science and Electronics divisions. Net sales reached EUR 5.434 billion, a 3.4% increase from the same period last year, while organic sales growth accelerated to 4.1%. EBITDA pre margin widened to 29.4%, demonstrating improved profitability.
The company's Life Science division saw strong demand for Process Solutions, with a 15% organic increase. Electronics also performed well, thanks in part to AI-related applications driving Semiconductor Solutions up 17% organically.
Despite some weakness in its Healthcare division, Merck raised its full-year outlook for 2026, expecting organic net sales growth of 1% to 3%, EBITDA pre of EUR 5.9 billion to EUR 6.3 billion, and EPS pre of EUR 7.90 to EUR 8.60.
Chief Executive Kai Beckmann noted the company's broad portfolio and accelerating growth, while Life Science chief Jean-Charles Wirth highlighted Process Solutions' redesigned go-to-market model.
