Merck Narrows Full-Year Sales Outlook Amid Q2 Loss
Merck reported a second-quarter revenue of $16.6 billion and a GAAP loss per share of $0.54, primarily driven by a charge related to the acquisition of Terns. The company narrowed its full-year sales outlook to $66.3, $67.3 billion and expects non-GAAP EPS of $2.66, $2.76.
The oncology segment showed momentum with KEYTRUDA/KEYTRUDA QLEX sales reaching $8.4 billion in the quarter, while new products such as WINREVAIR generated $588 million in revenue with 75% year-over-year growth.
Merck's Animal Health division also reported an 8% increase in sales to $1.8 billion in the second quarter, driven by both Livestock and Companion Animal portfolios.
