Merck Sets Ambitious Goal to Reach 100 Million People with Access Solutions
Merck has published its Purpose for Progress Impact Report 2025/2026, showcasing how it is driven by its purpose to use leading-edge science to save and improve lives worldwide.
The report highlights the company's progress in achieving its sustainability goals set for completion in 2025, including advancing health access, strengthening employee engagement and inclusion, reducing environmental footprint, and upholding responsible business practices.
Merck has announced updated sustainability targets, with a key focus on reaching 100 million people with access solutions that close gaps in care by 2030. This goal builds on the company's experience and capabilities, aiming to deliver meaningful impact for patients and health systems over time.
The report also notes that Merck achieved its access to health goals for the 2021-2025 period, enabling more than 445 million people to access its innovative medicines and vaccines globally through access solutions. The company has also reduced operational greenhouse gas emissions by 31% from a 2019 baseline and Scope 3 value chain emissions by 10%.
