Merck & Co., Inc.'s quarterly report for 2026 reveals a significant decline in net income, swinging to a loss of $1.34B compared to a prior-year profit of $4.43B.

The pharmaceutical giant's revenue grew by about 5% year-to-date (YTD), driven by strong sales in oncology, cardiometabolic/respiratory products, and animal health.

Keytruda and Keytruda Qlex continued to gain momentum, with sales increasing by roughly 8% YTD, while multiple approvals in 2026 contributed to their success.

However, diabetes medicines, including Januvia/Janumet, saw sharp declines due to generics and lower demand, as did certain infectious disease products.
