Meta Platforms Inc., the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, is courting European bond investors to help bankroll its AI infrastructure boom. This move comes as other tech giants such as Amazon and Alphabet tap overseas debt markets.

The meetings between Meta and European bond investors have been taking place for at least a week, according to people familiar with the matter. The company has not provided a timeline for a potential bond sale, but a European deal would mark its first debt issuance outside of the US dollar market.

Meta last raised debt in April through a $25 billion six-part bond offering. The move is part of a larger trend among tech companies seeking more funding for their AI ambitions. Amazon recently raised 4.25 billion pounds ($5.75 billion) in its UK sterling bond market debut, while Alphabet has also raised debt across several international markets this year.
