Meta's AI Ambitions Get Boost from Launch of Standalone Agent Muse

Meta Platforms has launched its standalone AI agent, Muse, which allows users to automate tasks and turn long-term goals into action plans. The agent runs on a separate virtual machine, ensuring private data remains isolated and is not shared across platforms.

Muse features an intuitive interface that lowers the learning curve for users, allowing them to opt in to specific apps and services the agent can access and interact with. This broad reach and future opportunities for monetization have Wall Street analysts viewing Meta's Muse as a worthy rival to Google's Gemini and Anthropic's Claude.

KeyBanc analyst Justin Patterson notes that Meta's distribution and data advantage give Muse an edge on day one, and believes the company can build a monthly audience in the hundreds of millions over the coming months. This would be deemed a success, according to Patterson.
