METLEN Powers Up Greek Coke Plant with Solar Deal
METLEN, an international industrial and energy company, has signed a significant deal with Coca-Cola Tria Epsilon to supply electricity from a 12 MW solar plant in Greece. Under a ten-year power purchase agreement (PPA), Coca-Cola Tria Epsilon will offtake 100% of the electricity generated by the photovoltaic plant, which is expected to produce approximately 16.5 GWh annually.
The site, located in Mikro Perivolaki, Velestino, Prefecture of Magnesia, will supply Coca-Cola Tria Epsilon's production facilities, supporting parent firm Coca-Cola HBC's net-zero target by 2040. This arrangement expands METLEN's corporate PPA portfolio, managed through its Integrated Utility aggregator platform across Greece, Italy, and Romania.
The deal highlights the growing importance of renewable energy in industry supply chains, as companies seek to reduce their carbon footprint and meet sustainability targets. By securing a long-term supply of clean energy, Coca-Cola Tria Epsilon is taking a significant step towards achieving its net-zero ambitions.
