Mets Pitchers Combine for Historic No-Hitter Against IronPigs
Syracuse Mets pitchers delivered a historic performance on Sunday afternoon at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, PA. The team combined to throw a nine-inning no-hitter against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, securing an 8-0 win.
The game got off to a strong start for the Mets as Nick Morabito led off with a single and stole second base in the first inning. Mark Vientos then launched a two-run home run to right field, giving Syracuse a 2-0 lead.
Vientos continued his impressive performance at the plate, hitting two more home runs in the seventh and ninth innings. His third homer of the game provided the final run in the 8-0 victory, with Vientos finishing 4-for-5 with three home runs, five RBI, and three runs scored.
The no-hitter was achieved through a collaborative effort from six Syracuse pitchers: Kevin Herget, Saul Garcia, Tobias Myers, Chayce McDermott, Joe Jacques, and Zach Franklin. The group combined to allow only two walks while facing 28 batters.
