Mickey and Minnie Lead the Pack at Magic of Disney Animation Opening

The Magic of Disney Animation has officially opened its doors at Disney's Hollywood Studios, bringing animation back to an area of the park rich in history. To celebrate this milestone, Disney gathered 60 beloved characters from various generations for a rare 'picture day' outside The Walt Disney Studios.

Mickey and Minnie were front and center, surrounded by an impressive collection of characters, including Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Stitch, Olaf, Baymax, Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, Rapunzel, Tiana, Alice, Pocahontas, Chip 'n' Dale, and many others. The characters posed beneath the iconic Sorcerer Mickey hat, making for a truly magical moment.

The new Magic of Disney Animation is part of the reimagined area formerly known as Animation Courtyard. Guests can now explore various animation-inspired experiences, including Off the Page!, where characters step out of animated portraits for meet-and-greets, along with Drawn to Wonderland, Olaf Draws!, and the Once Upon A Studio Theater.

The building itself is a treasure trove of nods to Disney Animation history, with Imagineers incorporating authentic items and references connected to the former Walt Disney Feature Animation Florida studio. Longtime Disney fans will have plenty of little details to discover while exploring the new space.
