Micro1 Challenges Google's Bid for Spirit Airlines Data
Google's bid to acquire Spirit Airlines' data has been challenged by Micro1, an artificial intelligence startup that offered $12.5 million for the same dataset.
The auction was part of Spirit Airlines' bankruptcy proceedings and had already awarded Google a contract worth $10 million for the company's internal data, including emails, chat logs, software codes, documents, spreadsheets, systems, and financial information.
Micro1 sees the value in this dataset going beyond what Google offered. The AI startup believes that Spirit Airlines' data is unique because it contains real-world examples of business operations, which can be used to train more sophisticated artificial intelligence models.
