Microsoft Agrees to Strong AI Safety Protections for US Schools
A significant agreement has been reached between Microsoft and the American Federation of Teachers regarding the use of artificial intelligence in schools.
The deal, which includes 10 legally enforceable protections, aims to safeguard students' and teachers' data from being used to improve AI models, except in cases of 'narrow safety and security' circumstances.
American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten praised the agreement, saying it sets a high bar for child privacy and AI safety, and that her union will extend this agreement to every school district across the country.
