Microsoft AI CMO Andréa Mallard Departs Amid Rebranding Efforts
Microsoft AI has announced that Andréa Mallard, its Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), is leaving the company. According to Business Insider, Mallard started transitioning out of her role about six months after being appointed in 2026.
The reason for her departure is due to personal reasons as she plans to relocate her family to Europe to be closer to her father who was unwell. This will result in her stepping back from her role at Microsoft AI, although she will remain with the company in an advisory capacity until early next year.
The move comes as the company restructures its approach to consumer marketing by merging its separate consumer and business Copilot applications into a single app. As part of this effort, Microsoft is bringing its consumer and business Copilot experiences closer together to create a unified application.
