Microsoft and Adobe Patch Critical Vulnerabilities in August Update
Microsoft has released its August 2026 Patch Tuesday update, addressing 421 vulnerabilities across various products and services. Among these, 62 are classified as critical, while 357 are considered important-severity issues.
The update also includes patches for three zero-day vulnerabilities: CVE-2026-72971, CVE-2026-62832, and CVE-2026-68820. The latter has been added to the CISA's Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, prompting users to patch it before August 25, 2026.
Adobe has also released five security advisories addressing 51 vulnerabilities across its products, including Adobe ColdFusion, Adobe Commerce, and Adobe Campaign Classic. Successful exploitation of these vulnerabilities may lead to privilege escalation, Security feature bypass, arbitrary file system read, application denial-of-service, and arbitrary code execution.
