Microsoft Appoints Ana Maria Lopes as New General Manager for Portugal
Microsoft has appointed Ana Maria Lopes as its new General Manager of Portugal. She will assume this role on September 1, succeeding Andrés Ortolá, who led the Portuguese operation from 2022 until July of this year.
Lopes' appointment comes at a time marked by increased investment in the country. The Microsoft ecosystem already represents about 2.5 percent of Portugal's national GDP.
Lopes will be responsible for the national strategy and her priorities include strengthening relationships with clients and partners, collaborating with public and private entities, and the responsible adoption of AI. She will also play a role in the digital transformation of Portuguese organisations.
