Microsoft Attracts New Investor as Institutional Stakes Grow
Steelhead Wealth Management LLC has invested in Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), purchasing 1,264 shares valued at approximately $467,000. This investment was made in the first quarter.
This is not an isolated instance of institutional investors buying into Microsoft. Other notable investors have also increased their stakes in the software giant, including Norges Bank, which purchased a new position in Microsoft worth $50.664 billion in the fourth quarter.
Microsoft has reported strong quarterly results, with revenue growth of 17.7% and earnings of $4.74 per share beating analyst estimates. Analyst sentiment remains supportive, with Wells Fargo raising its price target to a street-high $700 from $650 and maintaining an overweight rating due to the company's growth prospects and ecosystem strength.
However, concerns have been raised about Microsoft's rapidly rising AI infrastructure spending potentially pressuring margins, cash flow, and returns before new capacity generates sufficient revenue. A newly disclosed Windows zero-day vulnerability may also add reputational, remediation, and potential liability concerns for the company.
