Microsoft Azure Links with AWS in Multicloud Harmony Push
Microsoft has introduced a multicloud networking tool for Azure that links it with Amazon Web Services (AWS). The solution, called Azure Multicloud Interconnect, is built using Open API specifications for network interoperability. According to Narayan Annamalai, VP and Head of Products at Azure Networking Services, this step is towards a more open and interconnected cloud ecosystem.
'We see the opportunity to extend this model beyond a single cloud-to-cloud relationship,' Annamalai said. 'The same open API specification can help enable broader interoperability across hyperscale cloud providers, creating a more consistent experience for customers operating in increasingly diverse multicloud environments.'
Azure Multicloud Interconnect abstracts away the complexity typically associated with multicloud networking and delivers 100 gigabits per second (Gb/s) connectivity out of the box, along with four-nine (99.99%) availability and Media Access Control Security (MACsec).
