Microsoft Azure Surpasses Google in Cloud Market Share
Microsoft's Azure cloud platform has overtaken Google Cloud in market share, according to recent figures from Cloud Zero. With a 21% share of the market, Microsoft is now leading Alphabet (Google) by a significant margin.
The data also shows that Amazon's AWS has a 28% market share, while Google Cloud Platform lags behind with 14%. This gap in market share may be due to Microsoft's entrenched enterprise ecosystem, which includes Windows Server, Office 365, and Active Directory. These products are widely used across corporations, making Azure integration easier for businesses.
While Alphabet's cloud revenue growth was impressive at 82% in the most recent quarter, Microsoft's growth of 43% is still notable. However, it may take some time for Google to catch up with its rivals, given the current market share and growth rates.
