Microsoft-Backed Australian Solar Farm Powers Up Ahead of Schedule
Recurrent Energy's Carwarp Energy Park in Victoria has achieved commercial operation ahead of schedule, according to the company. The 150 MW solar farm is powered by a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Microsoft.
The facility will generate enough electricity to power approximately 65,000 households and reduce CO₂ emissions by around 227,000 tonnes annually. It utilizes nearly 243,000 high-efficiency Canadian Solar TOPCon modules.
Recurrent Energy CEO Dylan Marx said the project's timely completion demonstrates the company's ability to deliver large-scale renewable infrastructure safely and efficiently. He noted that Carwarp is well-positioned to provide community benefits and clean energy for years to come.
A 120 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) has been approved for co-location at the site, further enhancing its grid stability and flexibility.
