Microsoft-Backed Australian Solar Project Reaches Commercial Operations
Recurrent Energy has started commercial operations at its 150MW Carwarp Energy park in Victoria, Australia. The project is backed by a power purchase agreement with tech giant Microsoft and uses tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) modules from Canadian Solar.
The project is connected to the National Electricity Market through the Victorian transmission network. Recurrent Energy has secured planning and grid approvals to add a 120MW battery energy storage system (BESS) to the site.
Microsoft's involvement in this project highlights its commitment to renewable energy. As demand for clean electricity grows, especially from digital technologies, collaborations like this help strengthen Australia's energy system.
