Microsoft Caps Cloud Gaming Hours for Some Xbox Game Pass Subscribers
Microsoft has announced changes to its Xbox Game Pass subscription model, introducing monthly usage limits for cloud gaming. Starting in November, subscribers will have a capped number of hours based on their tier: 15 hours for Game Pass Ultimate, 10 hours for Premium, and 5 hours for Essential. This change affects about 4% of subscribers, who currently use more than the new caps.
The adjustment aims to manage rising operational costs associated with cloud gaming, which have surged due to increasing user numbers and gaming durations. Subscribers exceeding the limits can purchase additional cloud gaming time, but pricing details are not yet disclosed.
