Microsoft Caps Cloud Gaming Hours for Xbox Game Pass Users
Microsoft is capping cloud gaming hours for Xbox Game Pass users starting in November. This move affects approximately 4% of subscribers, who will no longer have unlimited access to cloud streaming.
The top-tier Game Pass Ultimate plan will be limited to 15 hours of cloud streaming per month, while lower tiers will receive even fewer hours: 5 hours for Game Pass Essential and 10 hours for Game Pass Premium. This translates to about half an hour of game time per day for those paying Xbox $23 per month.
Microsoft claims that monthly limits help maintain the service's reliability and performance, but it may frustrate players accustomed to unlimited streaming. The company has not announced pricing for extra hours yet, only stating that details will be shared before November.
