Microsoft Confirms Xbox Game Pass App for TCL TVs Ahead of Google TV Release
Microsoft has confirmed that it will release an Xbox Game Pass app on TCL TVs, marking the first time the cloud gaming service will be available on Google TV. The announcement comes after a prior teaser from TCL at CES 2026 in January.
The app will allow players to access Xbox Cloud Gaming through their Game Pass subscription and stream supported games directly from their TV. However, it's still unclear if this is an exclusive deal with TCL or if the broader Google TV platform will also be supported.
Microsoft says that the XBOX app on supported TCL Smart TVs will bring the instant library of games to players, spanning blockbuster releases, beloved franchises, and indie favorites through their cloud playtime. The company notes that eligible Xbox Game Pass subscribers will have access to this feature.
This comes just a day after Microsoft announced major changes to its cloud gaming setup on Xbox Game Pass. Players will now have a limited number of hours per month before they need to pay more, with the top limit being 15 hours per month.
