Microsoft Copilot Rolls Out to Apple CarPlay, Bringing Hands-Free Access
Microsoft Copilot is now available on Apple CarPlay, giving iPhone owners hands-free access to the AI chatbot while driving. This integration was rolled out this week and brings Copilot in line with other major AI chatbots already on Apple's in-car platform.
Users can connect their iPhone to their car using a USB cable or wirelessly if supported by their vehicle. Microsoft built the experience specifically around voice, so not all features from the full Copilot app are available in the car.
Copilot joins other major third-party AI chatbots on CarPlay, including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Grok, Meta AI, and Anthropic's Claude. To use Microsoft Copilot in Apple CarPlay, an iPhone needs to be running iOS 26.4 or later.
