Microsoft Deploys Emergency Fix for Windows After Patch Tuesday Debacle
Microsoft has released an emergency fix for Windows after Patch Tuesday chaos broke some systems. The patch, which is being applied automatically to affected users, fixes issues with USB audio devices, Remote Desktop Services, and Linux VMs.
The update was needed because the latest Patch Tuesday security updates, which included 974 fixes, caused problems for some users. This hotfix will be included in future updates, but users who are stuck on the faulty update can run Windows Update to receive it now.
Enterprise customers may also receive this fix automatically depending on their configuration of Windows Update for Business. The patch supports a wide range of Windows versions including 26H1, 25H2, and 24H2, as well as Windows 10 version 22H2 (ESU).
