Microsoft Drops Support for Six Surface Devices in 2027
Microsoft is ending support for six of its Surface devices in 2027. These devices include the Surface Pro 7+, Surface Laptop 4, Surface Pro 8, Surface Laptop Studio, Surface Go 3, and the Surface Pro X Wi-Fi.
The company's Surface devices lifecycle page lists the end-of-servicing dates for these devices: January 15, 2027, for the Surface Pro 7+, and April 15, 2027, for the Surface Laptop 4. The other four devices will stop receiving driver and firmware updates on October 5, 2027.
Once support ends, these devices will no longer receive driver or firmware updates from Microsoft. However, they will continue to receive Windows 11 updates, including new OS features. But if any of these future updates break something specific to these devices, Microsoft will not be obligated to fix it.
