Microsoft Dwarfs Peers in $6.76 Billion Dividend Payout

Microsoft's $6.76 billion dividend payout is scheduled to be distributed on September 10, but investors who buy shares after today's open will miss out entirely.

The company goes ex-dividend today, which means only shareholders holding their shares at this morning's open are eligible for the payment.

This payout dwarfs those of other companies with the same ex-date, including Applied Materials, Marriott International, SBA Communications, and LKQ. The combined payouts from these companies do not come close to Microsoft's massive dividend.
