Microsoft Ends Feature Updates for Windows 10 Office Apps

Microsoft is slowly phasing out support for its Microsoft 365 and OneDrive services on Windows 10, nudging holdout users toward upgrading to Windows 11. Starting in August 2026, new features will no longer be available on Windows 10 after the release of version 2608 of Microsoft 365 Apps.

This means that while Office apps will continue to function on Windows 10 until October 2028, they will not receive any further updates or new features. This is part of a broader strategy by Microsoft to discourage users from sticking with an older operating system and instead encourage them to adopt the latest version.

The company has pledged support for Office apps on Windows 10 until at least October 10, 2028, but this does not necessarily mean that they will continue to work indefinitely. Users who are still clinging to Windows 10 may eventually find themselves unable to use certain features or run newer versions of the software.
