Microsoft Expands Cloud Presence in India with Hyderabad Data Center Launch
Microsoft has expanded its cloud presence in India with the launch of its largest data center area in Hyderabad, known as India South Central. This is Microsoft's fourth cloud area in the country, joining existing centers in Pune, Chennai, and Mumbai.
The new facility is part of a larger investment by Microsoft in the Indian market, which has committed around $20.5 billion to building its operations and AI infrastructure. The company aims to tap into India's growing demand for Azure and artificial intelligence services, with early customers including Adani Group and HDFC Bank.
Local infrastructure can enable banks and other regulated firms to keep sensitive information inside India while enhancing the speed and dependability of their cloud services.
