Microsoft Expands Intune Remote Help with Unattended Windows Device Support
Microsoft has updated its Intune Remote Help feature to allow IT teams to troubleshoot unattended Windows devices without user participation. This change removes the need for users to approve a support session before an IT technician can begin troubleshooting, reducing delays caused by locked, shared, or after-hours devices.
Previously, Remote Help on Windows required end-users to be present to approve and join a support session. However, with this new unattended support feature, authorized help desk personnel can securely access and repair devices even in the users' absence.
The new feature provides session isolation, security-first design, user awareness, and rich session capabilities. It also includes controls designed to maintain visibility and accountability around unattended sessions.
