Microsoft Extends Security Updates for Windows 10 Through 2027
Microsoft has extended its Extended Security Updates (ESU) program for Windows 10 through October 12, 2027. This means that consumers who are still using Windows 10 after Microsoft ended free support in October will have an extra year to get security updates.
Think of ESU as a bridge between Windows 10 and the next operating system, but it's not a full solution. The program provides critical security updates for eligible Windows 10 computers that would otherwise no longer receive them.
If you're still using Windows 10, make sure your computer is enrolled in ESU to continue receiving security updates. You can check if your PC can run Windows 11 by going to Settings and looking for the Windows 11 upgrade option or using Microsoft's PC Health Check tool.
