Microsoft Extends Whiteboard Deadline as Users Face Content Loss
Microsoft Whiteboard users have been given more time to prepare for the app's retirement. Originally set for August 22, the deadline has been pushed back significantly. Legacy whiteboards will be deleted on October 16, and the standalone app deprecated November 30.
The migration of Microsoft Whiteboard storage to OneDrive for Business means that users with personal accounts will lose access to any saved content. Those using enterprise accounts have a short period to migrate or export their content before the new deadline.
Microsoft has emphasized the key dates: September 25, when migration tooling for legacy enterprise whiteboards is retired; October 16, when legacy whiteboards are permanently deleted; and November 30, when the standalone app is deprecated. Users with personal accounts can no longer create or edit whiteboards after September 25.
