Microsoft Eyes Sledgehammer for New Halo Multiplayer Project

Microsoft is reportedly considering Sledgehammer Games for a new Halo project. According to gaming YouTuber Rebs Gaming, who has been involved in recent Halo leaks, Sledgehammer was working on a prototype for its own Halo game back in June.

The initial prototype was scrapped, but Microsoft may be revisiting the idea of having Sledgehammer handle a new Halo multiplayer game. This would align with Microsoft's current plans to restructure its studios and focus on its most important franchises.

Microsoft has been slowly rebuilding its Halo Studios team after rebranding from 343 Industries. The company may lean further into outsourcing development for future Halo games, as seen in the Campaign Evolved project.
