Microsoft Faces Class Action Lawsuit Over Alleged False Statements
A class action lawsuit has been filed against Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) over alleged false and/or misleading statements made by defendants during a specific period.
The lawsuit claims that throughout May 1, 2025 to January 28, 2026, defendants made false and/or misleading statements about Microsoft's Copilot family of products, including issues with brand positioning, user experience, usage, data siloing, computational capacity, organizational, and interoperability problems.
The lawsuit also alleges that Microsoft needed to increase capital expenditures by billions of dollars and divert GPU and CPU capacity away from fulfilling demand for its profitable Azure services in order to improve the competitive positioning of its critical Copilot family of products and increase AI-related research and development (R&D).
