Microsoft Forces Restart on Managed PCs for Two Months
Microsoft is changing its Windows PC update policy next month, forcing restarts to enable specific security component fixes to install.
The change affects managed PCs, and Microsoft has warned IT admins to inform users about the upcoming update. According to Neowin, affected users will experience a 'force restart' in September, followed by another restart in October as part of the usual quarterly cycle.
This means that for two months, Windows PCs will be restarted twice when they update, which may cause disruptions to business activities. Microsoft has assured that once the security updates are installed, the hotpatching process will resume as normal.
