Microsoft Integrates GPT-6 Astra into Enterprise Applications
Microsoft and OpenAI have integrated their latest AI model, GPT-6 Astra, into various Microsoft applications. These include Copilot Cowork, Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry, and GitHub Copilot.
This integration enables users to delegate more complex tasks to the model, allowing them to review and make decisions on the output. According to OpenAI's announcement, GPT-6 Astra can handle larger tasks with increased efficiency.
OpenAI has also updated its Codex harness for faster computing speed, resulting in a 1.9x faster task completion compared to the current GPT-5.6 Sol experience on the Mind2Web benchmark.
Microsoft emphasizes that the next era of enterprise AI will focus on how well models can work with and assist users, rather than solely on chat experiences. To facilitate this, Microsoft Foundry brings together essential components for enterprise AI initiatives, including identity management, networking, governance, data handling, evaluation, and compliance.
Astra's capabilities include planning and decision support, purposeful output, and interaction with software to complete multi-step tasks. OpenAI highlights scenarios where Astra can be applied, such as bug handling and business intelligence through PowerBI dashboards.
