Leslie Nut-Komlah '27 spent his summer at Microsoft's global headquarters in Redmond, Washington, as a finance manager intern on the central finance team. The Yale School of Management student worked directly under the CFO and supported business performance consolidation, producing financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Nut-Komlah's experience before SOM focused on cloud operations and expense management. He helped organizations save money on their cloud bills, stay accountable to expenses, and negotiate enterprise agreements. The internship at Microsoft allowed him to continue doing analytical decision support work at an immense scale.

The student's main project involved supporting Microsoft's Executive Incentive Plan (EIP), which sets performance-based compensation goals for senior leaders. Nut-Komlah worked with business teams to propose performance metrics, targets, and payout ranges, and developed AI-focused performance metrics with limited historical precedent.
