Microsoft Keeps Call of Duty Promise with Long-Term Deal on Nintendo Consoles
Microsoft has made good on its promise to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo consoles. The company confirmed that it will continue to publish Call of Duty games on Nintendo's platforms for at least the next decade, following its acquisition of Activision Blizzard King.
The agreement was first hinted at in 2022 when Xbox CEO Phil Spencer mentioned that Microsoft would be bringing more games to more people, regardless of their preferred platform. He specifically highlighted the partnership with Nintendo and stated that Microsoft had a 10-year commitment to bring Call of Duty to the Switch.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is set to be released in beta form over the next few days, and will feature cross-play and cross-progression capabilities for players across different platforms. The game's developer has described it as 'dramatically better' than previous titles in the series.
