Microsoft's highly anticipated 'disc-to-digital' feature is set to launch this month, allowing users to transfer their physical Xbox game library to digital format. The feature will be available for Project Helix, a next-gen Xbox device, and will enable players to access classic Xbox 360 titles.

According to a leaked document obtained by The Verge, the 'disc-to-digital' feature will also allow developers to bring their old-gen games to Xbox PCs and handheld devices. This means that gamers can play their favorite retro titles on various platforms, not just next-gen consoles.

The rollout of this feature is expected to be gradual, with a full launch planned for 2028. However, the public beta for the 'disc-to-digital' program was initially set for July, but it's unclear if the August general release is still on track.
