Microsoft Launches Fourth Cloud Region in India
Microsoft has launched its fourth cloud region in India, which will provide customers with more local choice to modernize critical systems and build new digital services. The South Central cloud region is located in Hyderabad and joins three other regions: Central India in Pune, South India in Chennai, and West India in Mumbai.
The region is part of Microsoft's global cloud infrastructure, which includes over 80 regions in 34 countries and more than $20.5 billion in investment commitment to India's cloud and AI future. The new data center region comprises three Availability Zones built with a resilient design aligned to India's regulatory and seismic-zone requirements.
According to Puneet Chandok, President of Microsoft India and South Asia, the launch will enable customers to move faster from experimenting with AI to creating durable business value with AI.
