Microsoft Manager Killed in Murder-For-Hire Plot Linked to Ex-Wife and Her Husband
A man named Mario Fernandez Saldana has been convicted of first-degree murder and solicitation of murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a Microsoft design manager, Jared Bridegan. The attack occurred on a Florida road in 2022 after Bridegan stopped to remove a tire from the road.
The victim was killed while his daughter sat nearby in her car seat. Prosecutors believe he was targeted because of ongoing strife with his ex-wife, Shanna Gardner, over custody arrangements for their twins.
Fernandez Saldana's motive, according to prosecutors, was to gain more control and decision-making power in the custody arrangement. They pointed out that Fernandez Saldana had written three checks totaling $10,000 to the man who carried out the attack, Henry Tenon.
