Microsoft Manager's Ex-Husband on Trial for Murder
A man named Mario Fernandez Saldana is going on trial for his alleged role in the murder of Jared Bridegan, a Microsoft design manager. The crime took place in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, in 2022.
Bridegan was shot repeatedly outside his vehicle while his 2-year-old child was strapped in a car seat. Investigators believe that a tire was placed in the road as part of a plot to distract and kill Bridegan.
The alleged murder-for-hire scheme involved Bridegan's ex-wife, Shanna Gardner, and her current husband, Fernandez Saldana. Gardner had been granted a divorce from Bridegan in 2015 but continued to have custody battles with him over their two children.
A man named Henry Tenon has already pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in connection with the case and agreed to testify against Fernandez Saldana. However, he withdrew his plea earlier this year and will get his own trial in 2027.
