Microsoft Outlook Users Hit by Widespread Outage
Thousands of Microsoft Outlook users reported issues on August 31, according to outage tracking website Downdetector. The problems started around noon ET and peaked at nearly 6,000 complaints at 12:24 p.m.
The majority of users experiencing difficulties were having trouble receiving emails, with 39% reporting this issue. Other common problems included disruptions to the app and logging in.
Microsoft acknowledged the issues on social media platform X, stating that it was working on resolving problems with its 'Exchange Online' product. The company confirmed that users may experience degraded functionality with various Exchange Online functionalities.
