Microsoft Puts Teams Chat Filter Update on Hold

Microsoft has temporarily rolled back an update that would have allowed Teams users to more easily organize and ignore unwanted chats. The feature, which was in development for Android, iOS, desktop, and web platforms, aimed to reduce clutter and keep conversations easy to find.

The update would have created a dedicated area for muted chats, making it simpler for users to manage their conversations without being distracted by unnecessary alerts. This change would also have included a new Meeting chats section that replaced the existing filter, providing users with better insight into their conversations.

Microsoft has not provided an explanation for why the update was delayed or when it will be reintroduced. The company's decision to roll back the feature has been met with disappointment from Teams users who would have welcomed any relief from chat overload.
